Mark DeSantis is pleased to announce that he has received the endorsement of the
New Pittsburgh Courier. The Pittsburgh Courier’s editorial board stated in its
latest edition that they believe Mr. DeSantis is the right choice for
Pittsburgh. The editorial states:
“Yes, Pittsburgh is awash in change and that change should signal a departure
from the one-party dominance by electing Mark Desantis as mayor."

PUSSIES ABOUND IN CITY GOVERNMENT
So how predictable is it that the pussies on city council decided to delay the controversial vote on sanctions against cops who beat their wives and/or husbands until after the elections. I mean, really.

Pittsburgh City Council today postponed for two weeks a vote on an ordinance setting procedures for handling allegations of domestic abuse by police officers.

The decision came after Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said for the first time that he wants an ordinance on the subject, and as advocates for women sent conflicting e-mails to council members on whether they wanted a vote now or after further negotiations.

MacYapper - Yup, Pussy Boy Opie gets to have his abused coppers and eat them too. Or something. He gets to act like he cares about chicks but not endure the wrath of the cops, whose union as already endorsed DeSantis.

Council members were divided on whether they should insist on a specific ordinance.

"When it's an ordinance, it becomes the law of the city of Pittsburgh, and when it's the law of the city of Pittsburgh, only council can change it," said Mr. Peduto.

The delay comes after a flurry of e-mails to council reflecting a split among women's advocates about how to proceed. Several groups concerned with women's rights generally have advocated an immediate vote before Tuesday's general election, while some organizations which help battered women urged lengthier talks with the administration.

I understand you want a thoughtful deliberation, but it'll be watered down the longer you let these bozos banter.

EDWARDS WINS DEM DEBATE
So sayeth MacYapper. Despite all the hype about Obama telegraphing that he intended to come out swinging in the NYT, it was Johnny E. who threw the biggest punches.

Mr. Obama contended that the Democratic front-runner had repeatedly changed her position on crucial issues ranging from trade to the war in Iraq. But the sharpest exchanges in the early portion of the debate focused on Mrs. Clinton's vote in favor designating Iran's Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.

"She voted to give George Bush the first step in moving militarily against Iran," Mr. Edwards said of the Senate vote last month.

"This has incredible consequences for Afghanistan and Pakistan," said Mr. Biden. "[It] plays into this whole urban legend that American is on a crusade against Islam ... all it has done is hurt us."

"The way you put pressure on this administration is you stand up to them, you say no," Mr. Edwards added.

MacYapper - As Edwards pointed out, and as the NYT reported in its analysis, Hillary Dillary Dock (The Girl's Got Quite A Cock) seems to be strategizing towrd the general election, instead of the primaries... hence, her voting for the sanctions against Iran so Tutti Fruitti Oh Rudy can't nail her as being soft on evil.

I'm still thinkin' Hlllary's inevitable, but I've been an Edwards man since day one.

DESANTIS BEATS OPIE

Both combatants were stronger than I'd seen them. But Opie was slightly improved, and still monotone-drone-mobile.

"We all make mistakes," Mr. DeSantis said. "What I didn't hear was a humility, a recognition that these were truly bad decisions. I hear him admit that he made mistakes, but I don't hear him say specifically what he is accountable for in those mistakes. And some of those mistakes were pretty serious."

Mr. Ravenstahl asked that voters judge him by his accomplishments in office, pointing out that he has submitted a balanced budget and put the city on the road to financial recovery.

And the best point of the night, I thought, was when DeSantis pointed out that OPIE IS REQUIRED BY LAW to submit balanced budget. SO WHAT KIND OF AN ACCOMPLISHMENT IS THAT?
