JESUS, HE'S AT IT AGAIN EDITION

GOTTA LOVE THOSE MAC-YAPPER SPONSORS!
http://www.izzazu.com/store/index.php

Yo, yo, yo MacYippers! What up?

Still getting a record number of hits from yinz, so thanks. But, staring at the train wreck won't work forever, so for a moment, let's gaze upon the train wreck that is Mayor Opie, shall we?

Have you ever seen a guy with such a sense of entitlement in your life? Have you ever seen such a jock sniffing, frat boy, old school hack in your life? OK, OK, it's Pittsburgh, we've got them in spades.

But still, THIS GUY NEVER LEARNS HIS LESSON. EVER! EVER!

Now don't miss the story here. The story isn't really that he used a vehicle that belongs to a police surveillance unit that was paid for with Homeland Security funds to party with his friends, and trashed the vehicle in the process, though he denies it.

I mean, what transgression of which he is completely guilty has he failed to deny thus far?

The STORY is that Chief Harper, who's turned out to be as much of a classic good ol' boy as anyone, was ready to pounce on his female police officer underling for ratting on Opie.

And of course YOU JUST KNOW that the cop chick went over Chief Harper's head because she knew HE WOULD HAVE BURIED IT.

And you know that the cop chicks in the city are still FURIOUS with Mayor Opie for demoting Whistleblower/Hero Commander Cathy McNeilly.

And why did he demote Cathy? Oh yeah, 'CAUSE SHE RATTED ON OPIE'S PLAN TO PROMOTE A COMPLETELY UNQUALIFIED BACKROOM COP-PROTECTING WHEELER DEALER TO BE BOSS OF THE COPS!

POST-GAZETTE.COM:
Cmdr. McNeilly was demoted after she sent city officials an e-mail criticizing Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's Oct. 2 nomination of former city Operations Director Dennis Regan as public safety director, a job that would have given him disciplinary power over city police, firefighters and paramedics. Her e-mail accused Mr. Regan of intervening in her efforts to discipline Officer Francis Rende for sick-time abuse, and it contained the officer's disciplinary report.

MacYapper - What people in this city don't seem to understand is that the only reason Opie promoted the current boss of the cops, a man who is actually qualfied, a man who had the common sense to reverse Chief Harper's attempt to discipline someone for ratting on Opie who deserves to be ratted on,...
the only reason he got the current QUALIFIED guy is that CATHY WHISTLE BLEW until she was BLEW in the face about the unqualified hack who WOULD have gotten the job.

The inittial decision to try to promote Dennie Regan shows astoundingly poor, and frankly, dangerous judgment.

HE'S GOT BAD JUDGMENT PEOPLE! WAKE THE F UP!

POST-GAZETTE.COM:

A Pittsburgh police sergeant who complained that Mayor Luke Ravenstahl improperly used a police vehicle this summer was threatened with reprimand for not following the chain of command, but the punishment was later blocked.

Mr. Ravenstahl said he was not aware that the vehicle was paid for with federal Homeland Security funds when he was using it for things like business travel to Harrisburg and for his personal use, including a Toby Keith concert in August.

The Police Bureau sought to discipline Sgt. Mona Wallace, who complained about the use of the vehicle to Public Safety Director Michael Huss.

Sgt. Wallace was threatened with discipline by Police Chief Nate Harper for taking her concerns outside the bureau, only to have a reprimand rescinded by Mr. Huss, in a rare reversal of punishment meted out.

MacYapper - So either Opie wised up and realized with the Commander McNeilly thing as a precedent, he's going to lose if this chick tries the whisteblower route, or Public Safety Huss is smart enough to realize it would be an unnecessary distraction.

For his part, Opie just wants to party and take advantage of every perk he can lay his hands on.
And he wantsd to do that because he's a 27 year old kid who likes to drink and party. And that's what 27 year olds do. At least partying jock-sniffing frat boys who are 27. This person should not be mayor. Is there anyone left who doesn't see that?

And yet, predictably, tragically, he'll be elected easily. Welcome to Pikksburgh.

The chick cop ratted on him because he's a frat boy using a surveillance vehicle for partying and that pisses her off. It pisses her off that he's an old school chauvinist who doesn't care about women... hence his failing to attend the meeting about men cops who beat their wives being promoted.

POST-GAZETTE.COM:
The issue came to a head after Mr. Ravenstahl used the SUV over the weekend of Aug. 18. Among other things, he took it to a Toby Keith concert at the Post-Gazette Pavilion. He said he went with his wife and friends.

Sgt. Wallace, of the Intelligence Squad, then complained to Mr. Huss, who at that time was both public safety director and fire chief. He is now a full-time director.

Sources said Sgt. Wallace was concerned that 300 miles were put on the vehicle, it was not available for police use, and it was returned in a messy condition.

Mr. Ravenstahl denied that the vehicle was messy. "Any time we exchange vehicles we always clean it out," he said.

MacYapper -
Can somebody explain to me why he can't drive his own freaking personal car to the freaking Toby Keith concert? Why does the city have to pay for the car that he uses to party with his wife and friends?

And c'mon, Sgt. Wallace isn't making it up. She's a 19 year veteran. SHE'S A GROWNUP.
Opie trashed the SUV. And he thinks because he's the mayor it doesn't matter. Some lackey will clean it up.

POST-GAZETTE.COM:
Since becoming mayor, Mr. Ravenstahl has on several occasions faced questions or criticism about his judgment and ethics.

In June, he played in the Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational golf tournament in Ligonier as a guest of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the Penguins, which picked up the mayor's share of the $27,000 it cost a threesome to take part in the event.

The city Ethics Hearing Board cleared him of wrongdoing in the golf outing but suggested the city's rules be tightened to avoid "perception" problems.

Mr. Ravenstahl was similarly criticized for taking a private jet trip to New York with Penguins owner Ron Burkle in March shortly after agreeing to a publicly subsidized financing package for a new arena for the team. He later reimbursed Mr. Burkle for the trip from campaign funds.

MacYapper - Blew off a meeting of Hill district blacks to party with Burkle. Blew off meeting with blacks on the North Side to go to the Red Sox game in Boston. Blew off the meeting with women concerned about cops who beat their wives to jock sniff with Jim McMahon and others on the golf course.

Other than that, he's an exemplary mayor who's shown great respect for women and minorities.

I lost faith in this guy when he wanted to promote Dennie Regan, with no public safety experience, to head up the cops. That was all I needed to know. It taught me that, from the beginning, he was plugged into the good old boy, old school hack, who gives a shit if anyone's actually qualified, network.

But at least Opie can smile 'cause I got shitcanned.

MORE FEEDBACK ON DEMISE OF THE MCINTIRE RADIO SHOW

John,
My Father and I were at the Backstreet last week to hear you and Gab and Gene. Always a pleasure. You seem to have nine lives, so I hope there's a few more left in you. As a talk radio junkie, I can tell you your show was a real treat. Your comedy bits with Gab were great. Sometimes I think this city, with its Bohemian ways, just never appreciates anything a little on the edge. Best to you and Gab...Glenn

MacYapper - Glenn, you may have something there. But it's too late to turn milktoast now.

John,
I'm the illustrator guy who came out to some of your comedy shows.
Gab and you had the best show on radio I've ever heard, and I've been
listening to talk for a long time. I listened whenever possible to
you and Paulsen. They obviously didn't have the quality of the show in
mind when they fired you. Funny, irreverent and interesting were the hallmarks of the show. You and Gab were great partners on the airwaves.
Frank

MacYapper - Frank, I like to believe you were right about the quality of the show. But unless those who fill out the Arbitron diaries agree, it kind doesn't matter. But thanks.

WHAT IF MAC-YAPPER WAS DEAD?

John,

You know, that got me thinking. If you got all those hits writing about you
being shitcanned, how many hits would I get if I wrote you were dead?

http://msmonongahela.blogspot.com/

I'll let ya know. We might be on to something, McIntire.

Your fan

Ms. Mon

MacYapper - Well thanks so much Ms. Mon. It's happy thoughts like that which keep me going in these troubled times.
